Remote Administration Tabs on the Web requires access to the server for installation. Either via physically sitting there, Timbuktu or VNC. Since the program is an application it cannot be simply FTP'd to the server, you'll need to either binhex it for FTP, copy it via appletalk or use Timbuktu's file transfer. Once the application is installed on the server you will no longer need direct access to it. You can do all your configuration on another mac and simply FTP the preferences file, the database file, and the template files up to the server. However the preferences file takes some special preperation. Since your serial number is stored in the preferneces file, and the preferences file is stored in the web server root, you dont want anyone to be able to type in the address of your preferences file and have the web server download a copy of it so the Prefs are stored in a format that the web server cannot serve. However this also means that it cannot be ftp'd up to the server. For sending new prefs up to the server you can select "Save Prefs For Upload" from the File menu. This will write the local prefs file in a format that can be uploaded via ftp to your server. Once the file has been uploaded, the next time the acgi starts up it will load the prefs and then re-save them in the format that the web server cannot serve. If the acgi is running when you upload the file you will need to select "Quit the ACGI" from the admin page of the server. If you have Timbuktu or appletalk access to the server then it is not necessary to save the file in the special format as these systems can upload the format of the prefs file. The database is in an ftp friendly format and can be upload to the server at any time. If the acgi is running, in order to pick up the new database you must select "realod database" from the admin page of the server. Or quit and restart the acgi.
